Accountant/Controller
The Museum at Eldridge Street/Eldridge Street Project is seeking an accountant/controller to maintain all books of record for organization as well as provide management reports and other financial responsibilities.
This person must have at least 3 years experience that includes maintaining the books of a non-profit organization, preferably a museum or cultural center, with demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and FASB requirements, current working knowledge of Quickbooks and excellent Excel skills.
Major responsibilities include:
- Maintaining all books of account for organization using Quickbooks.
- Allocating expenses to various programs/cost centers
- Preparing financial records for annual and grant contract audits, including Form 990.
- Preparing budgets.
- Preparing reports for management including statements of revenue and expenses, cash flow, budget vs. actual, and direct mail.
- Submitting payroll to service and providing reports as needed.
- Preparing 1099s for consultants.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintain personnel records including but not limited to pesonnel job descriptions, resumes, timesheets/cards, payroll registers, attendance sheets, vacation and sick leave records, educaqtional and professional experience documentation, attendance policies and procedures, payroll tax returns.
- Maintain vendor and contractor records including but not limited to consultant contract agreements, consultant credentials, qualifications, type of service provided, evaluation of service/product provided, bidding documentation, etc. Providing the purchasing function for the organization.
- Updating insurance policies and HR related issues.
